Meet Maura!
We have had the greatest time with Maura and her precious pup Finley these past few weeks since they became Yardies! Recently, we got to talk with Maura about how her experiences and interests have led her to become a member at Container Yard.
Maura grew up on the west coast in San Francisco, CA. After graduating from high school, she continued her education across the country in Washington D.C. at George Washington University to study and obtain a degree in Political Communications. Maura is now working to obtain her Master’s in Real Estate Development through Georgetown University, also in Washington D.C.
Right after graduating college, Maura became an Officer in the Marine Corps and served 8 years active duty and has been in the Marine Corps Reserves for the past 2 years. Maura served on many different assignments in
Japan, South Korea, Afghanistan, and Virgina. In 2017, Maura transitioned from active duty into the Marine Corps Reserves. Maura is now in command of the Maintenance Services Company within Combat Logistics Battalion 25. Capt. McGraw, we thank you so much for fearlessly leading our country and applaud you for all your service.
After transitioning into the Marine Corps Reserves, Maura and her husband, Capt. James Prial, a USMC infantry officer, moved to Birmingham so that Maura could pursue her dreams of starting her own real estate business. In March 2018, Maura founded Duratus Properties, a residential real estate investment and development company based in Birmingham, AL. One year later, Maura co-founded a company called Freedom Ventures Property Management, also based in Birmingham. Maura also runs her own e-commerce store, Strong Women Supply, which features t-shirts that she designed to honor the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It is safe to say that Maura is a true lady boss!
Maura stumbled upon the Container Yard by chance (and we are so happy she did!). She and her husband were having issues setting up the internet in her home so after a few Google searches, she found us! Maura said that as soon as she walked into Container Yard, she “immediately fell in love” and the fact that she could bring her dog sealed the deal. Maura loves working at Container Yard because “it is a great way to meet people” and she also “feels more productive here than at home because of the motivating environment.” When she’s not at Container Yard working on her real estate endeavours, you can find Maura relaxing by the beach or working a sweat at Crossfit Fairhope. We are so happy to have you here, Maura!
